Wheezes are a continuous breath sound with a musical tone. They may be either low or high pitched. Low pitched wheezes have a moaning or snoring sound. High pitched wheezes can be compared to a squeaking sound. Wheezes may be auscultated over anterior, posterior pr lateral chest walls. Wheezes are more intense over lung areas affected by partial obstructions.
